Agora note como a frase em inglês segue a mesma estrutura: My house is bigger than yours.
tall – taller
big – bigger
wise – wiser
happy – happier
beautiful – more beautiful
Mike is funnier than Isaac. This book is more boring than the last one. Advertising pressures women to be thinner. This computer is better than that one. It’s much colder today than it was yesterday. Our car is bigger than yours. I find science more difficult than mathematics. Today’s class was more interesting than usual. My sister is taller than me. She’s looking happier today. Why is everyone else luckier than me? The shops are always more crowded just before Christmas. My mother is more careful with her chores than I am with mine. Russian grammar is more difficult than English grammar. My brother is much more intelligent than me. This car is certainly better, but it’s much more expensive. She is two years older than me. New York is much bigger than Boston. He is a better player than Ronaldo. Neste caso, devemos usar a estrutura the + comparativo em ambas as frases. Veja como: The older you get, the more irritating you become. The faster you drive, the more dangerous it is. The higher they climbed, the colder it got. My neighbor is driving me mad! It seems that the later it is at night, the louder he plays his music! Of course you can come to the party! The more the merrier. He has 6 large dogs to protect his house. The bigger the dog, the safer he feels. Aproveite também para ler sobre algumas expressões que usam comparativos, como Know Better, None The Wiser, Get The Better Of e Larger-than-life. See you next time!
